Tournament Summery

Gallop’s Karate School hosts this tournament every year to provide a place that every child can win and receive not only beautiful trophies, but more importantly a boost of self-esteem.

Ø  Children will compete against other children their own age and level

          (i.e. – A 5 year old no belt will compete against another 5 year old no belt)

Ø  All children will win a trophy. Trophies will be sized according to placement (1^st, 2^nd, 3^rd)

Ø  All competitors will need to wear his/her full Gallop’s Karate Uniform. They will compete both in Kata and sparring.

Times

            3, 4, 5 yrs. old.................................................................................... 8:00 – 9:15 am

            6 & 7 yrs. old .................................................................................... 9:15 – 11:00 am

            8 & 9 yrs. old .................................................................................... 11:05 – 12:15 pm

            10 & 11 yrs. old................................................................................. 12:15 – 1:10 pm

            12 & up.............................................................................................. 1:10 – 2:45 pm (about)

Please be at the studio at least 15 minutes before your scheduled time.

Information

We understand that you are thinking your child may not know enough to compete in a tournament because he or she just started. Please keep in mind that we understand this as well. Everything about our program is designed to raise your child’s self-esteem and belief in the fact that he or she

IS NUMBER ONE.

Ø  The Kata most of your beginners will perform is Sanchin. They will only have to perform as much of the Kata as they have learned thus far in class (steps can be found on our website). The judge will call 3 students up at the same time to perform the Kata. This helps the children not feel like they are they only on being watched.

Ø  The sparring is very light touch with a lot of pads. The children will be suited up in sparring gear (provided by Gallop’s – if they do not have their own custom gear) they will the aim for points on the other person they are sparring. The first person to three (3) points wins that match. They will be very well padded and supervised during this event.

Payment can be made by check or credit card either before the event or the day of the event. If you want us to auto draft your account on file you must let us know at the time of registration.
